Temperature and Humidity Control
Most chemical stabilizers need to be stored in a constant temperature environment of 15-25℃ (refer to GB 15603-2022 General Rules for Storage of Commonly Used Hazardous Chemicals). Excessive temperature may cause decomposition, while insufficient temperature may cause crystallization or precipitation.
Relative humidity should be ≤60%. Humid environments easily cause moisture absorption and clumping (such as phosphite stabilizers), so dehumidifiers or desiccants are required.
Packaging and Sealing
Original packaging is preferred: Unopened stabilizers should be kept in the original manufacturer's moisture-proof aluminum foil bag or galvanized drum to avoid transfer and repackaging.
Secondary sealing requirements: If repackaging is necessary, HDPE containers (corrosion resistant) should be used, and nitrogen purging is required for protection (for easily oxidized types such as phenolic antioxidants).
Light Protection and Ventilation
Photosensitive stabilizers (such as hindered amines) must be stored in opaque brown bottles. The warehouse must be equipped with UV-protective curtains.
Warehouse ventilation must be ≥0.5 m³/s·m² (according to OSHA standards) to prevent the accumulation of volatile substances.
Classification and Management of Special Stabilizers
Flammable Stabilizers (e.g., organic peroxides)
Storage temperature ≤30℃, keep at least 5 meters away from fire sources, and it is recommended to store them separately in explosion-proof cabinets.
Storage limit: The storage quantity in a single warehouse shall not exceed 200 kg (refer to NFPA 400 standard).
Corrosive Stabilizers (e.g., acidic metal salts)
Must be isolated from metal shelves, use PP plastic pallets, and apply an anti-corrosion coating to the floor.
Leakage emergency: Prepare a 5% sodium bicarbonate solution to neutralize acidic leaks.
